You\u2019ve probably heard of this Japanese food plenty of times before; surprisingly, it can also be used in sandwiches.<\/p>\n<p>The Katsu Sando consists of crispy pork or chicken cutlets (which we\u2019ll be discussing today) sandwiched between Japanese style milk bread. The cutlets can be deep-fried or baked.<\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients (2 servings)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Four slices of Japanese bread<\/li>\n<li>2 pieces of boneless pork loin<\/li>\n<li>1 cup panko breadcrumbs<\/li>\n<li>100g All-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>Thinly sliced white cabbage<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp. Kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>2g Black pepper<\/li>\n<li>50ml Tonkatsu sauce<\/li>\n<li>Vegetable oil for frying 300ml<\/li>\n<li>50ml <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mizkanchef.com\/en\/shiragiku-vinegar\/\">Shiragiku<\/a><\/li>\n<li>50g Butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preparation method<\/h3>\n<p>1. Mix breadcrumbs and 1 \u00bd tbsp oil. Toast on medium heat until dark brown.<\/p>\n<p>2. Add \u00bd tbsp oil into the egg and whisk together.<\/p>\n<p>3. Pre-heat oil for deep-frying or oven to 200 C (400 F).<\/p>\n<p>4. Make slits on the tissue connecting the meat and the fat.<\/p>\n<p>5. Mould the meat and bring back to its original shape. Add Shiragiku, salt and pepper.<\/p>\n<p>6. Dip the meat into flour, egg mixture and breadcrumbs. Deep fry or oven bake.<\/p>\n<p>7. Spread butter on all bread slices, add tonkatsu sauce, cabbage, and cooked cutlet on one slice, cover with the other and add plate to press things into place.<\/p>\n<p>8. Cut the crust and serve.<\/p>\n<h2>Japanese Egg Sandwich<\/h2>\n<p>Also known as Tamago Sando, the Japanese Egg Sandwich is regarded as a convenience food, but there\u2019s no harm in incorporating it into your restaurant menu and perhaps adding your own touch to it.<\/p>\n<p>The sandwich is popular across the world due to plain eggs going so well with the milky and sweet Japanese bread.<\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients (2 servings)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Four slices of Japanese bread<\/li>\n<li>3 eggs<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp milk<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp Japanese mayo<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 tsp sugar (to add a slight sweetness)<\/li>\n<li>Butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preparation method<\/h3>\n<p>1. Boil eggs on medium heat, cook for 12 minutes and transfer to cold water to peel shells.<\/p>\n<p>2. Mash peeled eggs and mix sugar, salt, milk, and mayo.<\/p>\n<p>3. Spread butter on all bread slices. Evenly distribute the egg salad on one slice. Cover with the other and add plate to press things into place.<\/p>\n<p>4. Cut the bread crusts and serve.<\/p>\n<h2>Japanese Fruit Sandwich<\/h2>\n<p>A Japanese fruit sandwich is unlike any other, consisting of whipped cream and seasonal fruits being tucked between bread slices \u2013 served for breakfast, lunch or dinner.<\/p>\n<p>Add a touch of unconventionality and colour to your restaurant by incorporating the dish in your menu.<\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients (2 servings)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Four slices of Japanese bread<\/li>\n<li>12 strawberries<\/li>\n<li>2 kiwis<\/li>\n<li>1 mango<\/li>\n<li>1 cup whipped cream<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preparation method<\/h3>\n<p>1. Symmetrically cut fruits into equal parts and remove moisture using a paper towel.<\/p>\n<p>2. Add heavy whipping cream and sugar into a bowl and start whisking until cream is thickened to the right consistency.<\/p>\n<p>3. Spread the whipped cream on all bread slices and diagonally align all fruits.<\/p>\n<p>4. Add more whipped cream between fruits and cover with another slice.<\/p>\n<p>5. Tightly wrap the sandwiches with cling film and refrigerate overnight.<\/p>\n<p>6. Remove cling film and cut the sandwich in half, diagonally.
